My albino cousin, Sue, was devastated.
She got turned down for a part in the planned netflix biopic about Jesse Owens.
The producers felt it was a step too far for her to play Owens, the 4 x gold medal winning Olympic athlete. After arguments back and forth between the lawyers for both parties, it was decided that the 420 pound double amputee didn’t have a leg to stand on, (the missing legs are a direct result of diabetes).
When big Sue threatened to sue the studio (under a vague diversity law) the film studio offered a compromise. Big Sue is now set to star in a biopic about the notorious leggy blonde from the 1950s, Jayne Mansfield.
All’s well that ends well apart from Jayne. She lost her wig when the car she was travelling in hit a tractor. The wig was thrown from the vehicle. It was reported at the time that her head was still in the wig. That was just a rumour. It’s a persistent rumour. But a rumour all the same.
